Although we’ve come a long way as a society in terms of being more open about discussing mental health, there are many people who live with depression who feel as if they are often misunderstood. And that’s a completely valid thing to feel for a person who is experiencing depression. Thankfully, there are depression quotes which can provide some solace.
If you live with depression on a daily basis, know that you’re not alone on your journey. You don’t have to feel isolated or like it’s not okay to accept how you’re feeling.
Remember: You matter. You are enough. And you’re stronger than you think you are.
And if anyone second guesses your feelings or patronizes you for what you’re feeling, they simply don’t deserve you in their life. You are special, unique, and your struggles are real and no one should make you feel less for having them. Sometimes it just takes longer for you to find your inner phoenix to rise from the ashes.
And there are also many people who are very successful and still struggle with depression regularly. Depression knows no bounds. It can affect any person at any age of any background. And it’s not something to brush aside or take lightly.
I’ve experienced waves of depression, and I know firsthand how empty it can make you feel. And I can say for myself, talking about it doesn’t make me feel any better. Especially to those who can’t relate or empathize.
Allow these depression quotes to shine a little light on your day…and maybe even make you smile.
